Oscar night is Feb. 26th. It’s a big night for movies, the people who work in them and the people who watch them. So, the Augusta Public Library is celebrating Oscar during the month of February.
• There will be an Oscar contest. Visit the library between Wednesday, Feb. 1st and Saturday, Feb. 25th, and pick up a form that will allow you to make your choices for Best Picture, Best Actor, and Best Actress. You may enter each time you visit the library during the month. On Monday, Feb. 27th, the library staff will go through the entries and select those naming all three correctly. They will all go into a drawing. The winner will be awarded two tickets to the Augusta Historic Theater.
• The Classic Movie Matinee for February will be the 1951 winner for Best Picture, starring Gene Kelly and Leslie Caron. Visit the library or call 775-2681 to obtain the title.
• The monthly book display for February will feature Oscar winning movies, books that inspired the making of winning movies, and biographies of winning actors and actresses.
