Women of the Augusta First Christian Church are ready to dish out some of their delicious chicken and noodles for their annual Chicken and Noodle Dinner from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 12, in fellowship hall of the church.
“It just gets better every year. People keep coming back. We even sold 300 carry-out dinners last year,” said T.J. Wilson, longtime dinner volunteer.
The ladies have been making noodles since last November. They gather several times a month and fix up a batch of homemade noodles to go along with the 84 chickens that will be used for the annual meal.
The event is one of the largest and well-known community dinners. It drew around 900 people last year to the First Christian Church at 1600 State.
Many of those who help with the preparations attended the annual event with their parents when they were children. Now the dinner is the church’s biggest fundraiser.
