The Derby Twins won and the El Dorado Broncos lost in Jayhawk League action Tuesday night.

Derby held off a late rally to beat the Liberal BeeJays 3-2 at Panther Field, while El Dorado was shut out by the Nevada Griffons 3-0 at McDonald Stadium.

Erik Gregersen allowed one run in seven innings to win the game for the Twins,  but Liberal scored one run in the ninth before Chris Kaminski recorded the final out for the save. Jordan Cruz and Brent Voorhees hit home runs for Derby.

El Dorado recorded only six hits — three by Matt Davis — and made five errors in the field against the Griffons. Chris Hord was the losing pitcher for the Broncos.

It was announced late Tuesday that the Joplin Southwest Slashers have folded.
