Little lumberjacks of Andale Lumber’s Rockies T-Ball team nailed down this year’s title Wednesday night in the Catt Leedom Baseball Tourney.
The Rockies knocked off the Sharp Realty Royals 24-17 in the single elimination championship bracket.
The Andale Lumber Rockies advanced to the title game by defeating the Red Sox and the Athletics.
The Sharp Realty Royals were in the finals after moving the Phillies and the Orioles to off-the-bracket homes.
In fact, Wednesday’s championship game was the second of two for the Royals who dispatched the Orioles 21-16 prior to the game against the game with the Rockies.
The Rockies out-scored the Royals 7-6 in the first inning and 7-3 in the second. The victors rang up 10 runs in the final stanza. The Royals added four more runs before the game ended.
The Rockies play a rain makeup game next Monday.
Other winners Wednesday night were the Orioles and Royals in the Machine Pitch bracket. That sets up a title match for then at 6:30 p.m. tonight.
The championship game for the Squirt division will be 8 p.m. Thursday evening. If a second game is necessary for this double-elimination bracket, it will be played Friday at 6:30 p.m.
