"I couldn't miss it," said Andover Central senior Marshall Miller who hit a free throw with less than a second left in the Jaguars' 47-46 win over Andover in the Sub-State championship game.

"I had to make it," Miller said. "That's all I was thinking."

Andover led at the half and held on during the third period. But Central rallied for a 9-0 run to finish the third period to take a 40-37 lead.

Andover came back to retake the lead. With the score at 44-42, Miller stole a pass but missed the lay-up. However, he kept the pressure on and stole another pass and got the ball to Randall Vautravers who hit a free throw to give Central a 46-44 lead with 25 seconds left.

Thomas Jobe drove into the lane and hit a tough shot to tie the game with 8 seconds on the clock.

The Jaguars got the ball to Miller who was fouled driving to the basket. He missed the first attempt but kept his composure and won a trip to State for his team by sinking the second free throw.
