Augusta's bowling team finished with a score 2,322, good for seventh place out of 40 teams at the 5-1A State bowling meet at Northrock Lanes Thursday. KC-Washington won the team championship with a score of 2,670.
Tyler Newman led the Orioles with a series of 612. Brandon Hallmark bowled a 601, Isaac Gonzalez bowled a 561 and Scott Bisarek bowled a 548 to round out Augusta's score. Wichita Collegiate's Jack Stewart bowled a State-high 766 for all six classes. Collegiate is a 3A school.
Augusta's Chario Carter and Lexi Wallingford will compete in the girls bowling meet at 2 p.m. Friday, also at Northrock Lanes.
