The Augusta Middle School girls basketball teams went 1-2 Thursday night in games against Andover Central at the AMS Events Center.
The eighth-grade A team played tough, but lost to the Jaguars 21-17.
“Even though we lost, that was a good performance that we played,” said AMS girls basketball head coach Jamie VanDever. “I was overall pretty pleased. We just had shots go in and out in the fourth quarter.”
Christina Downs led the Bluejays (3-5) with five points, while Kelsee Sears and Taylor Williams added four points apiece in the loss.
The seventh grade A-team lost 19-8 to fall to 2-6 on the season. Taylor Childers and Alia Khalidi scored three points apiece for AMS.
The eighth grade B-team recorded the only win for the Lady Bluejays on the day with a 19-12 decision. Becca Carr led AMS with 11.
