The Grasshopper Festival was a nice event and brought people of all ages downtown for an enjoyable evening.  I felt the Festival was to promote downtown Augusta businesses, as well.  We saw the talent of our children from some of those businesses.  The children of Davis Dance, a downtown Augusta business, practiced for hours for the event.  The group had to start late and then was stopped with only three dances left to perform -- the children were dressed and ready, but they had run over into an out-of-town group’s time.  Was this fair? NO!  What does support downtown, support our kids and support our town mean?  Practice what you preach.  Be proud of our children and hopefully at the next event,  have a great time.

This past weekend was beautiful.  Who made the decision to postpone the Catt Leedom tournament?

I am angry at the disposition of the current Augusta Little League board.  The board cancelled last Friday’s Catt Leedom baseball games due to wet diamonds.  Thse diamonds were in great condition and playable by 1 p.m. Friday afternoon.  And in their infinite wisdom cancelled Saturday’s games due to a 20 percent chance of showers.  I’m extremely disappointed in the board for allowing select individuals to place personal agendas over our youths' baseball program.

To Enough is Enough -- I wasn’t even referring to a man in a scooter chair, unless he’s with those ladies who like to slow down traffic.  All I’m saying is that no one knows what to do when they are gathered at the intersections.
