We are very disappointed about not having fireworks on the Fourth of July.  It’s been a family tradition for many years.  We’ve always been proud of our fireworks display.
-------------------------
No fireworks at Augusta Lake due to no corporate sponsors?  Hmm..I seem to remember collection cans for donations at all businesses weeks before the Fourth and firefighters at the Lake entrances taking donations on the Fourth, but that was years ago.  What has happened to Augusta community spirit?  We didn’t always place financial responsibility on just the businesses.  Of course, it would NOT hurt any of the businesses to make a contribution, but not foot the entire bill.  Times are tough for our businesses, as well.

Hey, I’ll take the fireworks show over Grasshopper and Homecoming festivals!
-------------------------
It’s so sad about no fireworks at the City Lake.  My out-of-town friends have been coming over on the Fourth  for a number of years.   But when you think about it, it’s kind of a waste of money, which could be spent on better things.  We’ll just have to adjust like so many others.
-------------------------
Could we trade in a fancy turnaround and some big flower pots, all of which aren’t needed or being used, for a huge fireworks display?
