Leland Lane Bilson, 67, El Dorado,  died Sunday June 15, 2008 at his home.

Family visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Kirby-Morris Funeral Home.  Celebration of his life will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 19 at the First Christian Church in El Dorado.  Burial will follow at Sunset Lawns Cemetery, El Dorado.

Leland was born March 1, 1941 in Climax, Kans. the son of Paul and Florence (Mackey) Bilson.  He grew up and attended school in Eureka.  He served his country in the Marines from 1960 to 1964.  He was united in marriage to Margaret McComb on Nov.10, 1960. She died Oct. 26, 1990.  Leland had lived in El Dorado since 1965.  He and Glenda (Britting) Bilson have been together for 17 years.  He was a retired oil field worker for United Cementing and Acid Co.

Leland was a member of the D.A.V., VFW, American Legion, Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Butler County Shrine, Wichita Midian Shrine, and the Patmos Lodge.  He was a avid gardener, motorcycle rider, loved to fish, and enjoyed his coffee breaks.

Survivors include: his wife, Glenda; sons, Daniel Bilson, David and wife Molissa Bilson; daughter, Dee and husband Lee Cannon; brothers, Dwight (Margo), Norman (Carol), Eugene (Arlene), Elwyn (Zula), Neal (Necia), Donald (Sherri), Dennis (Inez) and John (Stacey); sisters, Marjory (Kenneth) Green, Janice Bilson, Paulette (Bob) Porter, Barbara (John) Lutt, Anne Bilson; grandchildren, Chase, Lindsey, Dylan, Abigale, Mollie, Michael, Garrett, Maggie and Hayden; beloved pets, Schatzi and Kitchen; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. 

He was preceded in death by his first wife Margaret; his daughter, Diane; sister, Judy; and his parents.

Memorials have been established with the First Christian Church, Hospice Care of Kansas and Susan B. Allen Dialysis Center.
