ANDALE -- Augusta's boys basketball team outscored Andale 22-6 in the fourth quarter to beat the Indians 54-49.
Connor Carman made a key steal after Andale rebounded a missed shot by Augusta. The Indians were forced to foul and Carman made two free throws to make it a two-possession game with less than 10 seconds.
Travis Erwin scored seven of his team-high 15 points in the fourth quarter to help spark the Orioles' comeback. Augusta was down 43-32 at the end of the third quarter. Tyrone Richmond hit one of his two three-pointers, then Steven Clausing scored on a putback to tie the game at 44.
Shane Smith scored a three-pointer in the fourth quarter and finished with 11 points. Clausing also scored 11, Carman finished with nine and Richmond finished with eight points.
Augusta will host the Rose Hill Rockets Tuesday night at home for homecoming night. Carman made a game-winning free throw with less than a second left to beat Rose Hill in the season-opener.
