Colorful and sleek race cars were assembled Saturday in the pit area beside a long race track inside St. James Catholic School.
Heat-by-heat homemade vehicles raced down the track.
Young car builders handed their cars to the starter man Joe Phillips who placed them on the track. The competitors then strode to the finish line.
The annual Pinewood Derby of Cub Scout Pack 209 is a mix of celebrations and disappointments.
But it’s also fun.
The car entries were judged for design and themes ahead of the races. The following Scouts had the best entries in the categories:
