Council grants 4 percent raise to city manager

City Manager Bill Keefer’s contract as Augusta’s chief administrator was renewed for another year Monday night by the City Council.
After a pair of executive sessions,  the Council reconvened and gave Keefer a 4 percent raise, added $50 to his car allowance, and agreed to put $10,000 into the city manager’s retirement fund.
With the raise, his annual salary will be around $77,200.
