Action to acquire a residential house close to the footprint of Augusta Middle School is expected at Monday night’s School Board meeting.
The home at 903 State is on the northwest corner of State and Clark and southeast of the school. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Barber are the current owners.
Presentations, awards and recognitions canceled due to inclement weather conditions last month, have been rescheduled for the Augusta Unified School District 402 Board of Education meeting Monday evening. It will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the district office at 2345 Greyhound Drive.
Following public comments and adoption of the agenda, all district buildings will be recognized for attaining the Standard of Excellence and Robinson Elementary will be recognized for receiving the Governor’s Achievement Award. Garfield Elementary staff are expected to make a presentation to the Board members.
District Assistant Superintendent Lisa Brookover will discuss elementary reading text adoption in her monthly curriculum update.
Under New Business, Jim Scarpelli, district technology director, will discuss the purchase of fiber optics.
Unfinished business items to be addressed are:
• Update of door security systems
• Board Success Plan/Goal No. 4 - Communications/Rapport
• Approval of Bond Council
• An organizational meeting for the Bond Campaign Committee will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 4
• Set a special School Board meeting for superintendent’s evaluation
There will be executive sessions to discuss personnel matters and negotiations.
