Busy month planned at Augusta Senior Center

Some of the activities include:

Tuesday, June 3 at 10:30 a.m. -  a representative from an area television station will speak about the transition to digital television.

Tuesday, June 3 at 2  p.m. - Initial Introduction to Woodcarving Class.  Ed Redwine is the instructor that will help you get started learning a new hobby.  Men and women are both invited to attend the free class.  

Friday, June 6 at 3 p.m. - Banana Split Party.  It’s getting hot outside -- what a way to cool off!

Monday, June 9 - Leaving at 8 a.m. on a casino trip to Seven Clans Paradise Casino and the Tonkawaw Casino in Okla.  The trip is $15 and each guest will receive $10 and a welcome gift from the Paradise Casino, and a dinner meal from the Tonkawaw Casino. 

Tuesday, June 10 at 11:30 a.m. - A representative from Saint Raphael Home Care, Inc. will speak about circulation.

Tuesday, June 10 at 7 p.m. - Jam session.  Admission is free, but everyone is asked to bring a finger food.  If you play an instrument, sing, dance, and laugh - you are asked to join the fun.

Thursday, June 12 - A one day charter bus trip to the Chicken 'N  Pickin’ Ranch in Walnut.  Those attending will enjoy pan fried chicken with all the fixings and two hours of country music and comedy.  The trip is $55 and that includes the bus, meal and gratuity.

Saturday, June 14 from 7 to 10 a.m. - Monthly fundraising biscuit and gravy breakfast.  For a small donation you will be served delicious biscuits and sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, orange juice and coffee.

Tuesday, June 17 at noon - Covered dish birthday luncheon.  Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish or a small donation.

Tuesday, June 17 at 2 p.m. - Introduction to Woodcarving Class.

Tuesday, June 17 at 3 p.m. - New exercise program called Strong Women.  The program is geared toward strengthening and can be done while seated. 

Friday, June 20 from 7 to 10 p.m. - the monthly dance.  There is a small donation at the door and everyone is asked to bring a finger food.  There will be door prizes and live music by “The Three Hits & A Miss.”

Tuesday, June 24 at 7 p.m. - Jam session.

Every Wednesday at 10 a.m. - The weekly discussion group.  Topics vary and is the perfect opportunity to get to know each better.

The Center has planned a two night/three day casino trip to the Choctaw Casino in Durant, Okla. on July 8 - 10.  The trip is $99 per person, based on double occupancy.  Those attending will receive $20 back and two buffets.
