A pair of Judys will be at the helm of Augusta’s two Lions Clubs for the next service year - Judy Miller and Judy Dryden.
They were sworn into office for 2009-10 last Tuesday during a dinner gathering at the Cast Iron Skillet.
District Governor John Burgreen administered the oaths to these women.
Miller succeeded John Reid as president of the Breakfast Lions Club.
Dryden succeeded Roger Megli as president of the Evening Lions Club.
Breakfast Lions in officer roles next year include First Vice President Lee Miller, Second Vice President Terry Tennyson, Treasurer Melanie Tennyson, and Secretary Diann Buggeln.
Marlene Winzer will be the Tail Twister and Bill Buggeln will be Lion Tamer.
Directors of the Breakfast Lions in the new service year beginning July 1 will be Sandi Williamson, John Reid, Tearie Shipman, and Melissa Dies.
Past-President Reid will be membership chairman
Officers serving with President Dryden will be First Vice President Leonard Wakefield, Second Vice President Treasurer Jess Daniels, and Secretary Bill Kincaid.
Harry Stockwell will be Tail Twister for the Evening Lions and Bea Hart will be Lion Tamer.
Evening club directors are Charles Barber, Lorraine Stockwell, Ken Brinkman, and Al Bergen.
Past-President Megli will be membership chair.
Bluestem High School junior Denver Ridgway reported on being part of the 2009 Kansas Lions State Band during the recent convention in Wichita. He was sponsored by the Evening Lions Club.
Ridgeway, grandson of Lion Don Ridgway, said he learned plenty about percussion work for the convention performances.
