Garden Club annual sale

The annusl sale of the Garden Gate Garden Club will held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, 2420 Ohio.  Flowers and vegetable plants will be among the items offered for sale.

 

Leave food sack near your mailbox

Saturday is the annual Letter Carriers Food Collection effort to fight hunger.
Postal patrons are encouraged to leave sacks or boxes of non-perishable food near their mailboxes for collection by postal carriers on their rounds.
The collected goods will be delivered to the Augusta Community Caring Center.

‘Nim’s Island’ movie at downtown theatre

“Nim’s Island,” a PG-rated movie, will be showing this weekend at the Augusta Theatre, 523 State.
The showtimes will be 7:30 p.m. tonight, 7:30 p.m,. Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday.
Admission is $5 per person. Boys and girls under age two will be admitted free of charge.

Teddy Bear picnic tomorrow at library

Weather permitting, the community’s annual Teddy Bear Picnic will be held on the lawn of theā€ˆAugusta Library, 1609 State, from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday.
This picnic is sponsored by the Augusta Arts Council and will involve games, crafts, a puppet show, and Teddy Bear contests.
Participants should plan on taking a blanket and a sack lunch.


Debate/forensics  awards program

The annual Debate/Forensics Choice Awards program will be at 7 p.m. Monday night in the high school auditorium.
There will be a couple performances, according to teacher-coach Tim Laner.
