Butler County 4-H Fair set-up activities begin tomorrow at fairground facilities in El Dorado.
Check-ins for clothing, craft, woodworking, photography, leathercraft, and banners will take place Saturday.
Meat goats, sheep, beef, and swine entries will also be accepted on Saturday.
This year’s fair theme is “Watch Everyone Win in 2010.”
Gene and Peggy Maggard, rural Leon, will be recognized 2010 Volunteers of the Year.
After a Sunday church service, beef will be weighed, the poultry barn will open and more exhibits (electric, educational notebooks, rocketry, robotics) will be checked in. Judging of sheep and meat goats will begin at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday, respectively.
It starts up again Monday with a 7 a.m. rabbit check-in followed by foods, floriculture, horticulture, food preservation. The food auction and swine judging start st 6 p.m. Monday, followed by the Dairy Goat “Milk Out” at 8 p.m.
County 4-H youth will be operating the Clover Cafe in the north room of the community building daily. The public is invited to stop for a quick meal, snack, a cool drink, or candy.The beef, swine, meat goat auction will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
