A request for a conditional use to allow five dogs in a local household in northeast Augusta was denied Monday at a meeting of Augusta City Planners.
The planners considered the request from Don and Cheryl Slimmer and heard pros and cons on the issue.
In the end, however, they denied the request because is against the law to have five canines in a residential area. City ordinances allow up to three dogs at a home.
