Deadline Hollywood is reporting that Director David R Ellis has died this morning while in South Africa doing pre-production work on a new movie. Ellis started his career as a stuntman before moving to second unit directing and then directing features. Some of Ellis’ best known works include Final Destination 2, The Final Destination (4), Snakes on a Plane, and a personal favorite of mine Shark Night 3D. No details on the death are yet available but we will post an update as information comes out.<>
