The viewpoint was printed because it is someone’s view. Just because you disagree is no reason to silence the writer. Although 50 percent won the election, that means the other 50 percent disagree. Doesn’t the “father” figure into genealogy? I thought nationality followed the father.

Obama is the first Democratic president to win more than 50 percent of the popular vote in a re-election run since Franklin Delano Roosevelt in 1944.
The Constitution says a president must be 35 years old, 14 years a resident, and a natural born citizen. Obama has been a U.S. resident since 1971 and he's currently 49 years old. He was born in the State of Hawaii in 1961, after Hawaii entered the union in 1959. Since being born in the USA is the definition of natural born citizen, he’s a natural born citizen. The Constitution does not dictate that the father has to be a U.S. citizen.
