Visitation 5-7 p.m. on Friday, at Headley Funeral Chapel and graveside 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct.27, 2012, at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.
JW was born in Wellington, on Feb. 6, 1920, to the late Lois (Robinson) and Adam Crist. During WWII JW served in the U.S. Army in Europe and retired as a Maintenance Supervisor at Boeing. He enjoyed woodworking, building a variety of items for family, friends, and the church. On June 3, 1947, in Augusta, JW married Shirley (Wright) Crist.
He is survived by: sons, Dean Crist and his wife Ronda of Salina, Dick Crist and wife Camille of Wildwood, Mo.; sister, Ellen Firebaugh of Augusta; grandchildren, Ryan (Jill) Crist, Adam Crist, Erin Bryant (Matt), Sarah Davis (Mike), Andrew Crist, Jordan Crist; and great-grandchildren, Emily, Megan, Olivia, Ava and Tanner.
He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley, and sister Mary Edith Crist.
