Next Friday, Oct. 26, the Grasshopper Festival kicks off at 5 p.m. in downtown Augusta.
Friday's events will run 5 to 8:30 p.m. and they include:
• Free admission
• Vendor booths
• Sloppy Joe (or hot dog) dinner and dessert, $5 per plate
• Extended hours and discounts at downtown businesses
• Games/inflatables/petting zoo
• RKO Blues Band from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
• Live entertainment from local youth
• Weird and Unusual Sidewalk Tours by Adam Catlin, paranormal investigator
Saturday, Oct. 27
• Free admission
• Augusta Arts Council movie starts at 10 a.m.
• Trick or Treat Street immediately following the movie
• Chili Cook Off, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., judged by local celebrities. Don't miss the "People's Choice Award."
• Farmer's Market
