Obituary: David Akalis

David James Akalis, 46, Air Force veteran, El Dorado Correctional Facility guard and firearms instructor, of Augusta, passed away on Tuesday, Sept.25.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 1, at the First Baptist Church of Augusta.

David is survived by: wife, Paula; children, Amanda, Rebecca, Jessica and Caleb; siblings, Stephen and Cheryl; grandchildren , Cody, Kolby and Riley.

He was preceded in death by his parents Steven and Sylvia.
