• Cox, Bisagno earn medals in Eureka

  • Mission accomplished for seniors Alyssa Bisagno and Olivia Cox.
    Bisagno, who made it a specific goal to place at the Eureka Invitational this year after coming close last year, took sixth place at the girls golf meet Wednesday.
    Olivia Cox turned in one of her best performances to finish in second place overall. The two led the Orioles to a third-place team finish.
    Cox shot a round of 47 for her second-place medal. Bisagno shot a round of 48 for her sixth-place medal. As a team, the Orioles finished with a score of 210.
    Baylee Johnston took 11th place for the Orioles after finishing with a round of 54. Kailey Trebbe shot a 61 to round out the top four for Augusta.
    Lyndsey Stuart shot a 76 and Ashley Roby finished with a 68.
    The Orioles finished tied with Fredonia for second place in the team standings, but Fredonia’s fifth score beat out Augusta’s to take the tiebreaker.
    Caney Valley finished atop the team standings with a score of 198. The team had three of the top 10 finishers of the meet.
    Circle finished fourth in the team standings (217). The Thunderbirds were led by Jayme Hughey, who shot a 48 and took the tiebreaker.
    Monica Ramsey shot a 60, Torrie Hathaway shot a 61, Anna Oberle shot a 63, Jordan Mason finished with a 68 and Draven George had an 84 for the T-birds.
    n The Eisenhower golf invitational that was scheduled to be played Thursday at Tex Consolver was postponed due to rain. The meet was rescheduled for Sept. 24.
    The Orioles now will prepare for their home meet Monday at Augusta Country Club. Competing teams will be Andover, Andover Central, Circle, Maize, Maize South, Eureka and Valley Center.
