Soccer team plays Independent

Augusta's boys soccer team plays its second game of the McPherson tournament this afternoon against Wichita Independent in the consolation bracket.

Independent lost to Salina South 4-2 in the first round.

The Orioles got roughed up 10-0 by the Bullpups on the road in the first round of the tournament this week. McPherson plays Salina South.

Thomas Moore Prep defeated Maize South 4-2, and Hays beat Independence 11-1 in the first round.

The final round will be Saturday. The Orioles will play either at 8 a.m. or 10 a.m., depending on how they do Thursday. Augusta returns home Sept. 11 to play Mulvane.
