  • 1 What is it?  The local Farmers’ Market, sponsored by Downtown Augusta, Inc. will be located again downtown at the historical Frisco Depot, in the 600 block of State.

When is it?  It officially opens Saturday, June 16th and hours are 7:30 a.m. to noon, each Saturday during the summer.

What you should know Everyone attending - including shoppers and vendors - will all be eligible for a wonderful prize.  The winning name will be drawn at noon.

DAI will have a registration table and representative at the market to answer any questions.

4 Why attend? Farmers’ markets help connect produce growers with residents of cities and towns, and provide growers with another outlet to market their fresh produce.

While purchasing fresh fruits and vegetables from a farmers’ market helps our growers, it also benefits consumers. A diet high in fruits and vegetables can help reduce the risk of chronic diseases like Type 2 diabetes, stroke, some types of cancer, heart disease and hypertension. That’s why when it comes to fruits and vegetables – more matters.

For more information about the Farmers’ Market and registration fees: Contact the DAI office at 250-5549, or Dana Rogers at 775-1208.
