- Augusta's new teachers

- Along with local students’ excitement beginning a new school year, 25 new teachers embarked on a new education experience last week in the Augusta school district. Lincoln Elementary has more new educators this year with nine teachers and new principal, Lyle Dosser. Dosser is not new to USD 402, as he transferred from the middle school assistant principal position to take the reins at Lincoln. Robinson Elementary has five new teachers; Lora Jones, library/media specialist; Erika Hawley, third grade; Lauren Garten, first grade; and Beth Raine, special education. Ewalt Elementary has a new first grade teacher, Emily Ramsey, and music teacher, Keith Lang. Garfield Elementary did not have any new teachers, however, Staci Martin became the kindergarten teacher upon the recent resignation of Karen McAnulty. Augusta Middle School welcomed six new educators. Johanna Smith, art; Ruth Schneider, Special Education, Brooke Burns, 8th grade math; David Penner, 7th grade science; Brad Gober, 6th grade social science; and Steve Lily is the new assistant principal. Augusta High School’s new teachers are: Clint Robinson, business; Tracy Anderson, counselor; Nicole Cisneroz, English/language arts; JoAnna Ellsworth, science; Laurie Bruce, math; Jaci Keplar, health science; Steve Stoffregen, special education/IR/English/science/Scholar’s Bowl; Jayson Schwinn, math. The Gazette will feature Q & A articles with each new teacher in future editions.
